Indiana SNAP recipients will begin receiving maximum benefit amounts next week
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration announced today that more than 152,000 Indiana households will receive additional Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits when April distributions begin this Sunday. The additional funds are intended to help Hoosiers obtain food and support for their families while Indiana responds to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Major League Soccer Extends Team Training Moratorium
Major League Soccer has extended the team training moratorium through, and including, Friday, April 24. MLS training facilities remain closed to all players and staff with the exception of players requiring medical treatment or rehabilitation, under the direction of the team medical staff, that cannot be performed from the safety of their residence.
One Dead in Crash on I-80/94 near Burr Street
This afternoon (4/2/2020) at approximately 1:50 p.m. a black 2016 Toyota Rav4 was traveling east on I-80/94 at the 6.3 mile-marker. This is near the Burr St. exit. For unknown reasons, the Toyota struck the guardrail attenuator head on.
Gary Schools to Forge Ahead Virtually for the Remainder of the Academic Year
Today, the announcement was made that Indiana schools would remain closed through the end of the academic year due to Covid-19. Gary Schools Interim Emergency Manager Dr. Paige McNulty shared the following statement:
Pride Films and Plays to present live virtual reading of Terrence McNally’s MOTHERS AND SONS April 16th
Four actors, each participating from a different remote location, will perform a live online reading of MOTHERS AND SONS on Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 pm. Pride Films and Plays Executive Director David G. Zak will direct the reading of the play by Terrence McNally, who passed away at age 81 on March 24 of complications from COVID-19.
