Six Indiana State Police troopers from the Lafayette District were recognized at the 2024 Top Cop Awards on April 7, 2025, for their outstanding efforts in combating impaired driving.

On Friday, April 11, 2025, just after 10:00 p.m., Trooper Miramontes was patrolling the area of Sagamore Parkway near Kossuth Street when he observed a hearse displaying flashing red and white lights traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Sagamore Parkway.

This fun and exciting event for all ages is held each year to promote positive police and community partnerships. Munster was ranked as the #2 National Night Out event in the United States by population category in 2024.
