Beginning March 24, 2020 all Lake County Government buildings,including the buildings in Hammond, Gary and East Chicago, will CLOSE. This closure will remain in effect until April 6, 2020 with normal business hours and operations resuming on April 7, 2020.

On Thursday, March 19, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer joined with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) in paving the way for licensed distilleries to produce ethanol-based hand sanitizer. Journeyman Distillery started bottling sanitizer that same day. “There was no question about what we would do,” said Journeyman founder, Bill Welter.
