Fifty-One Lincoln Band, featuring BNI teacher Lori Wydra as vocalist, will perform a benefit concert from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13 in the Bishop Noll cafeteria. Food will be sold for $5 a meal with choice of fried chicken donated by Harry O's in Cedar Lake, pizza donated by Aurelio's in Hammond and hot dogs. Thank you to our food sponsors! The Bears game will also be on TV.
This is an open style event with several sets being formed and multiple 50/50 raffles so come when you can - leave when you must.
All proceeds collected from a free will offering at the door will directly help Bishop Noll families affected by this summer's storm.
Mrs. Wydra hopes this concert provides a chance for fellowship and entertainment while also helping out Bishop Noll families who have experienced losses from the tornado that swept throughout the Region Aug. 11.
Featuring professional-seasoned, multi-talented musicians with rich vocals including guitarist, Mark Wydra, who has performed on shows with Grammy winner Buddy Guy, Lonnie Brooks, Chuck Berry, George Thorogood, Bo Diddley, and traveled the world on tour with Grammy nominated Eddy Clearwater ... opened for Stevie Ray Vaghn, Robt. Cray, Taj Mahal, Etta James, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Bobby Blue Bland, and Sheryl Crowe... to name a few. Mark also recorded with James Burton (who played with Elvis and Ricky Nelson), Eddy - the Chief - Clearwater, Sam Lay, Bob Reidy Blues Band, Carey Bell, among many others.
