Pride Films and Plays today announced a new monthly series of shows spotlighting a cross-genre feast of queer and queer-ally local performers. Titled “PAC THE HOUSE” (using an acronym for Pride Arts Center), the series will debut on Sunday, September 17th at 8pm with a show hosted by out comedian and radio host Scott Duff and featuring hip hop/soul/RnB artist King Reza, female female impersonator Maureen SanDiego, storyteller James Anthony, drag performer Mikki Miraj and Lady Crush, an all-female improv group.

The curtain has risen on a fresh new fabrication venue for Chicago’s premier theatre, entertainment, television, and event scene and set experts. Chicago Scenic Studios, Inc. completed its move from the Goose Island location it has occupied since 1999 to its new and expansive city location at 955 W. Cermak, just west of Chicago’s China Town neighborhood.

MARK TOLAND, MIND READER to appear at Chicago Fringe Festival

The eighth annual Chicago Fringe Festival, showcasing some 50 acts in nearly 200 performances over nine days of shows will feature comedians, dramas, solo shows, dance, and puppetry… but just one mind reader. The Chicago-based Mark Toland, who has toured nationally and internationally with his one-man show “Mark Toland, Mind Reader” and appeared frequently on Chicago television and radio programs, will put his award-winning mind reading skills to the test for seven performances throughout the festival. The festival runs from August 30th-September 10th, 2017.
