Watch TEENFEST Online: THIS WEEKEND!

Tue, 06/23/2020 - 1:59pm by laughingcat

When the world came to a relative stop in mid-March, Lisa Formosa-Parmigiano, director of education and guiding force of the Teen Ensemble barely missed a beat in forward motion. She reached out personally to Jonathon Dorf, the author of The Locker Next 2 Mine and obtained the rights to take this year’s TeenFest production on line. Rehearsals migrated from the CST studio to Zoom meetings and the work continued.

After much consideration, the presentation platform decided on was a Zoom webinar. The controls it offers were in line with our needs and a new artistic form for Chicago Street Theatre will emerge next weekend.

The performance webinars are scheduled for Saturday 6/27 at 7:00PM and Sunday 6/28 at 2:30PM. At the conclusion of the Sunday performance, members of the Teen Ensemble will have their annual certificate ceremony and graduating seniors Jillian Davison, Mallory Gall and Rudy Parmigiano will receive special recognition.

Jonathan Dorf has been called the voice of this generation’s high school students. This production, described as a dramedy, deals with the death of 2 classmates. A shrine was built for one, the other, a suicide, is barely mentioned.

Members of the Teen Ensemble are Miranda Bognar, Ione Calvin, Maggie Collins, Jillian Davison, Bela Fouch, Mallory Gall, Katie Golding, Jessica Hampton, Nicole Hampton, Macy Highlan, Jakob Innes, Dylan Kachaturoff, Nathan Kirk, Zach Leonard, Rudy Parmigiano, Riley Schwarzkopf, Jane Topping, Jovanina Wilson, Sebastian Zieniewicz, Avery Thompson, Claire Pals.

Registration fee to view webinar is $10 with all proceeds benefitting the Chicago Street Theatre School. Please direct any questions about the upcoming event to boxoffice@chicagostreet.org.
