Emerging from the deep woods, Birna is Wardruna’s sixth studio album. Birna—Old Norse for "she-bear"—honors the forest’s guardian, driven into hibernation by modern society. The album calls for her return, as the forest slowly fades without her. The bear, central to ancient myths, was once our guide and guardian, symbolizing strength and wisdom. Wardruna’s sound, rooted in nature and tradition, blends ancient instruments with modern soundscapes. Birna continues this legacy, embracing both the old and the new. Einar Selvik, known for his work on Vikings and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, leads the group in crafting a unique, immersive experience. Catch Wardruna's return to The Auditorium on September 20!
