
The Kiwanis Club of Valparaiso will host a family friendly corn roast on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 5:00 to 10:00 pm at Central Park Plaza in Valparaiso. Advanced ticket sales are $20 (ages 10 and under are free) and are available at 1st Source Bank locations in Valparaiso or online at www.Eventbrite.com. Tickets at the door will cost $30.
Attendees will enjoy the music of Small Town, A Tribute to John Mellencamp, at 5:30 pm and Barracuda, America’s Heart Tribute band will take the stage at 8:00 pm. “Based on attendee feedback from previous years,” said Steve Bobinski, Kiwanian and Co-Chair of the Kiwanis Corn Roast Committee, “we returned with a full slate of entertainment to appeal to a wide variety of music lovers.”
Unlimited, all-you-can-eat roasted corn and bottled water will be available at no charge. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase and provided by a variety of food vending trucks; there will also be a beer and wine tent for those 21 and older.
This is one of the biggest fundraisers the Kiwanis Club of Valparaiso hosts throughout the year and will be the 8th year the event has occurred. Proceeds of the concert support the Kiwanis International mission to improve our community and make a lasting difference in the lives of children.
Charitable organizations supported by the Kiwanis Club of Valparaiso include the Boys & Girls Clubs of NWIN, the Valparaiso Family YMCA, Riley’s Children’s Hospital, Special Olympics, Opportunity Enterprises and many more.
The Valparaiso club is the 3rd largest club in the world and currently has 216 members.
