Valparaiso Community Schools is announcing its 6th annual student-centered Festival entitled: Spring into the Arts.
Spring into the Arts is a month-long festival for the ENTIRE community, brought to you by Valparaiso Community Schools, in partnership with Valparaiso Creative Council. It is a concept organized and orchestrated by VCS art teachers who firmly believe that students deserve meaningful experiences. Our festival enables students to showcase personal creativity in public venues throughout downtown.
VCS K-12 student artwork will be featured at 8 landmark downtown locations. Our kick-off event, The @rt-chitecture Walk, takes place at Urschel Pavilion on
Saturday, April 22nd from 11:00a - 1p.
The community is invited to join us as we unveil upwards of 1,000 pieces of student artwork across all participating locations.
Attendees will receive a map and venture to each location to receive a hole-punch. Maps can then be turned in for chances to win prizes at 1p back at Urschel Pavilion. Valparaiso Creative Council will also announce a mural “un-VALE-ing” and feature a local artist This one-day event kicks off the month-long art exhibit in downtown Valpo and will last until May 20th.
Students can also submit film entries this year at www.springintothearts.com by April 17th.
