UW Credit Union continues its steady branch expansion with the addition of an Oconomowoc location. The new branch opened Sept. 9th at 1314 Penny Lane at Pabst Farms. The fitting street name was selected by the credit union to celebrate the importance of saving for a strong financial future.
UW Credit Union targets communities where the greatest number of members live and work. The Oconomowoc location marks its 34th branch overall, the 13th in the Greater Milwaukee area. Future branches are planned for Milwaukee’s east side (North Avenue) and Pewaukee. Additionally, a new branch will be built in Stevens Point next year to replace the existing building on Division Street.
“Lake Country is home to many UW-System graduates, many of whom started their financial journeys with us on campus,” said UW Credit Union SVP Member Sales & Solutions Amy Kriebs. “The Oconomowoc branch bridges the gap between our Madison and Milwaukee locations, and we keep that in mind as we welcome new members and find relevant ways to give back.”
The credit union has already ingratiated itself into the local community as a proud sponsor of the Lake Country DockHounds professional baseball team. In addition to sponsoring National Night Out on Aug. 23 (police vs. fire kickball game), the credit union will sponsor Louie Fest later this month at WBC Park. Guests can stop by the UW Credit Union tent on Sept. 20 and 21 for spin-to-win prize opportunities.
A grand opening event is scheduled at the branch on Sept. 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. Multiple Wisconsin mascots will be on hand to pose with visitors. They include Bucky Badger™, the Milwaukee Brewers Barrelman™, Pounce Panther from UW-Milwaukee and the DockHounds’ Louie B. Sluggin. Mystery grab bags containing gift cards to Oconomowoc establishments will be issued to the first 100 guests.
Oconomowoc joins all UW Credit Union branches in offering two new debit card designs from local visual artist Mauricio Ramirez. The new cards launch today and are part of the credit union’s Expression Collection, a tangible celebration of members’ diverse identities and passions. The latest designs were created exclusively for UW Credit Union to celebrate community, culture and people. Additional artwork from Ramirez is featured at the credit union’s new Madison administrative campus. His two-story mural greets visitors to the lobby and three additional prints add beauty and inspiration throughout the building. Ramirez completed both projects this spring.
