Towle Theater has made the difficult decision to cancel its upcoming production of Sh-Boom! Life Could Be a Dream, which was scheduled to run July 24 through August 9, 2026.
Following the recent leadership transition at Towle Theater, the organization carefully evaluated all options for moving the production forward. However, given the timeline, staffing needs, and resources required to produce the show at the level our audiences and artists deserve, the decision was made to cancel the production and focus on maintaining the strength and stability of the remainder of the 2026 season.
"We did not make this decision lightly," said Executive Director Emily Nelson. "Our priority is ensuring that Towle Theater continues to provide high-quality theatrical experiences for our patrons, artists, and community. While we are disappointed not to bring Sh-Boom! to the stage, this decision allows us to focus our efforts on the successful production of our remaining 2026 programming and the continued growth of the organization."
Patrons holding tickets for Sh-Boom! Life Could Be a Dream will have several options available:
• Exchange tickets for Towle Theater's upcoming production of Misery (September 25–October 11, 2026)
• Exchange tickets for Towle Theater's 2026 holiday production
• Transfer tickets to the first production of the 2027 season
Ticket holders will be contacted directly with instructions regarding ticket exchanges.
