
Tippecanoe County – On July 24, 2024, Trooper Whitten and Trooper Farmer concluded a theft investigation resulting in the arrests of Morgan Fultz, 42, and Dylan Mitton, 31, both from Lafayette, IN.
The investigation began earlier in July 2024 when Trooper Whitten received a report of over 250 ounces of silver coins stolen from a residence in Lafayette. During the investigation, Trooper Whitten was able to locate and recover most of the stolen silver coins. This discovery led to the application and issuance of a search warrant for a residence in Lafayette.
During the execution of the search warrant, troopers discovered suspected methamphetamine, a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and various suspected stolen items, including more of the missing silver coins.
Fultz and Mitton were safely taken into custody and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.

Dylan Mitton, 31, from Lafayette, IN
- Possession of Methamphetamine – Level 6 Felony
- Theft of Property Value Between $750-$50,000 – Level 6 Felony
- Conversion – Class A Misdemeanor
- Possession of Paraphernalia – Class A Misdemeanor
Morgan Fultz, 42, from Lafayette, IN
- Theft of Property Value Between $750-$50,000 – Level 6 Felony
- Assisting a Criminal – Class A Misdemeanor
Trooper Whitten and Trooper Farmer were assisted throughout the investigation by troopers from the Lafayette Post and the Indiana State Police Lafayette Post Criminal Investigation Division.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
