On Friday, June 4th, members of the Munster Police Department’s Community Policing Unit, K-9 Unit, and Police Explorers Post stood out in front of both of Munster’s north and south Dunkin Donut locations as part of National Donut Day.
The officers and Explorers were collecting donations for our police department’s various community policing and K-9 programs. Throughout the day, a large number of generous individuals stopped by to provide donations to our officers to help keep our programs going strong.
Some of our programs, such as D.A.R.E., rely completely on donations from the public and our K-9 unit relies on donations for continued upkeep and care of our police dogs.
The Munster Police Department would like to thank everyone who stopped by to provide donations, speak with our officers, or visit our K-9’s.
We also would like to thank Dunkin Donuts for allowing us to collect donations in front of their businesses. We greatly appreciate the strong, continued support from the members of our community!
