Theatre at the Center presents
Creole Stomp
March 10th * 3:00 pm
Creole Stomp concerts have a reputation for heat and passion conveyed from the stage—music with emotion and energy that jumps from the band. In fact, Creole Stomp has become informally known as “The Grateful Dead of Creole Music” for their well-oiled, dancer-driven, crowd-pleasing marathon jams and improvisation. Traditional Louisiana Cajun two-steps, reels, and waltzes are included along with Creole blues and mazurkas for an unforgettable audience celebration reminiscent of a party in the Big Easy for French Quarter fun.
Creole Stomp has captured the ears and the feet of Louisiana music fans across North America, including a roof-raising performances at Theatre at the Center in 2018 and again in 2019.
Led by French-speaking Creole fiddler and accordionist Dennis Stroughmatt, Creole Stomp returns for one exclusive performance 3 p.m. Sunday March 10. The show promises to be filled with a “rollicking mix of contemporary blues, swamp pop, and traditional Cajun and zydeco dance tunes.”
