Join us this August in the hilltop town of San Gimignano transported to The Greenhouse Theater Center.
Duke Cosimo of Florence will be there for the spring festival, and we are pleased to invite you to enjoy this story of swordplay, romance, and intrigue, set in Renaissance Italy.
Who is best with a sword in San Gimignano? The young nobleman Ruffaelo, whose dreams don't quite meet his Mother's ambitions? Or Roberto, a young man of great charm who seeks answers about his parentage? Or the multi-talented sculptress, Artemesia? Or the intriguing serving girl Serafina whose skills are mysteriously good? Will Ruffaelo's mother, Elisabetta make peace with Artemesia's father, Captain Dorazio?
And will the grand Duke of Florence outwit the nefarious Doge of Venice who plots his own dreams with help from the hapless commedia dell'arte performers, Jacopo and Lucretia? A competition, a court duel, a spring celebration in the air. Come find out who may fail or win in love, glory, honor or sin.
