
We are excited to announce our special guests for Munster’s National Night Out Celebration on Tuesday, August 6th at the Munster Community Pool. They will be under a designated tent where participants will be able to get their autographs or to take photos with them for a portion of the evening.
STEVE TROUT is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He was a 1st round pick in 1978 and played for the Cubs, White Sox, Yankees, and Mariners, finishing his career in 1989. Trout was a member of the 1984 NL East Division Champion Chicago Cubs for which he went 13-7 with a 3.41 ERA.
JACK “KID” CALLAHAN is a 1973 Hammond Tech graduate and went on to achieve success as an amateur and professional boxer. He was the Indiana Super Welterweight Champion (1986-1990) and climbed to the No. 9 world ranking of the International Boxing Federation. After retiring from the ring, Callahan remained active in his sport as a coach, trainer, and referee and was recently inducted into the Indiana Boxing Hall of Fame. He also bravely served for many years as a member of the Hammond Fire Department.
