Sounds of Summer: A Beach Boys Tribute ushered in the summer season at Theatre at the Center in Munster on Sunday afternoon.
The band members, who are from Southern Indiana, have known each other since grade school. The band includes David Ertel on keyboard,
Conner Ertel on guitar, Matt Hurley on guitar, and Eric Wernke on drums.
Their vocals captured the signature Beach Boys’ harmonies. Over 30 Beach Boys hits included “Surfin’ USA,” “Be True to Your School,” “God Only Knows,” “Catch a Wave,” “ Surfer Girl,” “Kokomo,” and “ I Get Around.”
Many audience members sang along during an audience participation segment featuring the song, “Barbara Ann.”
A beach party vibe, complete with beach balls flying through the crowd, broke out as the band played “Fun, Fun, Fun,” which was a fun close to the show!
