Ryan Opera Center bass-baritone Sokol, who hails from New York, portrays the character of The Fifth Jew in "Salome."
"This is a different telling than what you traditionally see with 'Salome,'" Sokol said. He called it more of a "psychological thriller" where audiences can get into the psyche of Salome.
With this role as The Fifth Jew, Sokol is making his Lyric debut. According to Sokol, Richard Strauss' score for "Salome" is an impressive one.
"It's really a joy to perform," he said.
