On behalf of the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission, I am pleased to present NIRPC’s 2021 Annual Report.
The report highlights the activities and accomplishments of the Commission over the past year, organized into our three statutory focus areas of Transportation, Environment, and Economic Development, with an additional section relaying the technical services we provided to NIRPC’s communities. NIRPC’s revenues and expenditures are illustrated, as is the distribution of projects funded through NIRPC’s Transportation Improvement Program.
None of the accomplishments over the past year would have been possible without the dedication and commitment of representatives that serve on the NIRPC Commission from each of the 41 municipalities across Lake, Porter, and La Porte Counties, and from those county commissions and councils themselves, as well as the numerous contributors to NIRPC’s various committees that work collaboratively to move the region ahead.
Propelled by all that was accomplished in spite of the challenges of the pandemic, NIRPC staff looks forward to serving you in 2022 as we work together for a Northwest Indiana that is – as envisioned in NWI 2050 -- Connected, Renewed, United, and Vibrant.
Sincerely,
Ty Warner AICP
Executive Director
