Please read these important safety tips in reference to distraction scams and to share them especially with your family members, friends, or neighbors who are senior citizens.

Be aware of anyone who comes to your door advising that they need to check your water, that there is a utility issue, or that they are from the town. These suspects will often wear construction vests, hard hats, false identification, and carry portable radios.
• Talk with visitors through a side window and make sure that your exterior doors are always locked.
• Carry a spare key and your cell phone with you when working in the yard and lock your home.
• Call 911 to report anyone suspicious on your property right away and never let strangers into your home who you have not called for service.
