The Men’s Fund, held at the Porter County Community Foundation, is awarding $7,000 in grants to three Porter County nonprofits.

Project Neighbors is the recipient of a $5,000 grant. Funding will support Neighbor’s House, a 24-unit studio apartment building. This grant will ensure each resident has a bed, mattress, and nightstand.

Because of the amazing philanthropic support from donors, for the first time the Men’s Fund is awarding two additional grants to Hilltop Neighborhood House and Porter County Aging and Community Services.

Hilltop Neighborhood House will receive $1,000 to support their mission kitchen and provide clients with increased access to nutritious meals.

Porter County Aging and Community Services will receive $1,000 to support their work of providing vital services to low-income individuals, seniors, and people with disabilities.

“The Men’s Fund provides an opportunity for philanthropic individuals to pool their donations and quickly see them put to use,” said Matt Vessely, PCCF Board Chair and Men’s Fund supporter. “It’s a rewarding way to make a difference each year.”

Established in 2018, with the goal of providing an opportunity for collective giving, the Men’s Fund has granted $37,000 to local organizations. Applicants apply by briefly explaining what they would do with the grant and how it would impact the community. Past grant recipients include Opportunity Enterprises, Family House, Dressed for School, Dunes Learning Center, VNA Hospice NWI, and the Morgan Township Volunteer Fire Department.
