Portage LIVE!’s monthly Summer Sunday Series continues Sunday, August 14 from 3 pm to 9 pm with “Bands Big and Small!” Six great hours of FREE musical performances by The Marco Villareal Trio, The Vintage Postcard Band, and The Midwest Big Band will be presented at the Amphitheatre at Founder’s Park, 2545 Founder’s Parkway, Portage. Delicious eats from local food trucks and a beer garden will be available for you to make a day of it! Bring your own comfy lawn chair and come early for the best spot!
The afternoon kicks off with a 3 pm performance by The Marco Villareal Trio. The guitar, bass, drum trio of local (and not so local) talent has been acclaimed throughout the Chicagoland area under the leadership of guitarist Marco Villareal.
The Vintage Postcard Band takes the stage at 5 pm with a little big band sound, new rock arrangements, and show tunes. Based in Valparaiso, the band is known for its modern, pop-centric arrangements with a vintage, Jazzy twist.

At 7 pm, you’ll thrill to The Midwest Big Band featuring the vocal talents of Mary Kay Steele and Jim Bulanda! The band is the creation of a core group of close friends who made music together for many years and share the same passion for big band jazz. Their musicians hail from Northwest Indiana and the South Chicago Suburbs, each of whom cherishes the opportunity to share great music with every person who hears the band perform.
