More than 130 softball teams from across the Midwest are expected to arrive in Northwest Indiana to compete in the National Softball Association (NSA) Northern World Series. Games will be played throughout the region at facilities in Crown Point, Dyer, Schererville and LaPorte from July 14-19, 2026.

More than 6,000 participants and spectators are expected to visit the area during the week-long event. The South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority (SSCVA) has planned a variety of activities to enhance the experience for players, families and fans during their stay.

The festivities begin on Tuesday, July 14, with the NSA World Series Kick-Off at the Crown Point Sportsplex from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event features skills competitions, pin trading, vendors, and opportunities for teams to connect before tournament play begins.

Tournament games begin on Wednesday, July 15, at fields throughout the region. Opening Ceremonies will take place on Thursday, July 16, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bulldog Park in Crown Point. The celebration includes food vendors, a beer garden, DJ, braid bar, caricature artist, bounce houses, face painting and more.

“The NSA World Series remains one of the largest and most impactful sporting events in Northwest Indiana,” said Phil Taillon, SSCVA President/CEO. “We are honored to welcome these outstanding athletes and their families back to our region. Their visit not only brings excitement to our communities and ballfields but also supports local businesses and showcases everything that makes Northwest Indiana a memorable destination.”

The tournament is expected to generate more than $10 million in economic impact for Northwest Indiana while showcasing the region as a premier sports tourism destination.
