Lake County Indiana Alert System is notifying the public of a proscribed burn.
The prescribed burn will take place at in the natural area east of Georgia Street, west of MLK Drive, south of I-94, and north of Little Calumet River Levee Trail, Gary, Lake County. A total of 64 acres will be burned within the conservation area. Fuel consists of graminoids, forbs, and woody debris.
Timeline for conducting this burn is between May 6th and 15th. Intention on burning one or more days within that window until completion the work. As of now, intention is to conduct burn this Thursday, May 6th.
