
The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) is pleased to release the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). NIRPC will accept applications for the NOFA between now and November 18, 2022.
Special emphasis in this NOFA will be placed on improving safety for all roadway users; carbon reduction; transit-oriented development; and infrastructure resiliency.
NIRPC will hold a workshop for any interested parties on October 26 at 9:00 am to answer any questions and give guidance to applicants. The meeting will be held both at the NIRPC office and virtually (on-line). NIRPC staff are also encouraging any applicant who has specific questions to call and schedule a one-on-one meeting with staff to answer any specific questions or to discuss possible projects. NIRPC will be following CDC guidelines for all in-person meetings.

NIRPC is the Metropolitan Planning Organization and regional council of local governments for Northwest Indiana. NIRPC’s purpose, as put forth in Indiana state statute, is to “provide a coordinative management process for Lake, Porter, and LaPorte Counties and to institute and maintain a comprehensive planning and programming process for transportation, economic development, and environmental policy."
