The Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology is pleased to announce that Dr. Melody Pope is our new Archaeology Reviewer.
Some may recall that Melody formerly worked with DHPA in the early 2000s. For the past seven years, she served as Curator of Archaeology at IUMAA (formerly known as Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology at Indiana University). Before that, she served as the Research Director for the Office of State Archaeologist and adjunct assistant professor at the University of Iowa. She is also an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology at Indiana University as well as a research associate with the Kentucky Archaeology Survey.
Dr. Pope is shown during 2010 excavations within one of the structures at Spring Mill State Park.
Please join us in welcoming Melody back to the DHPA team!
