Navy Pier Unveils Newest Public Art Installation || Eddie Martinez sculptures to be on display on Pier’s South Dock through August 25th
WHAT:
Two significant sculptures by famed contemporary artist Eddie Martinez are the latest in an attention-garnering succession of noteworthy public art installations to be unveiled at Navy Pier. Presented in partnership with 291 Agency and the 11th Annual EXPO CHICAGO, taking place April 11-15 in Navy Pier’s historic Festival Hall, the Martinez installation is part of EXPO CHICAGO’s IN/SITU Outside program which brings the work of artists represented by exhibiting galleries to high-profile locations where they can be enjoyed by the public, free-of-charge.
Martinez’s Half Stepping Hot Stepper, enamel and spray paint on bronze, and Untitled, oil paint and enamel on bronze, have been described as bold explorations of abstract shape, line, and form, all at once exuberant and nostalgically melancholy.

The Martinez sculptures will be on display to Pier visitors through Aug. 25, 2024.
