We are excited to announce that Marcus Steele, Jr. from the John Will Anderson Gary Club was named one of five 2021 Boys & Girls Clubs of American National Youth of the Year finalists! Marcus is an exceptional young man, and we are so proud of what he has accomplished.
In February, Marcus was chosen from eight local candidates to represent Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana as our organization’s local Youth of the Year.
In April, he competed against 14 other outstanding teens from around the state and was named Indiana’s State Youth of the Year.
Earlier in June, he was chosen from 13 Midwest Region Youth of the Year candidates as one of two finalists.
And on June 17th, Marcus made history when he was named the Midwest Region Youth of the Year.
Marcus now moves on to compete for the title of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Youth of the Year! In addition to that honor, he could win a $50,000 scholarship and a Toyota Corolla. In total, Marcus has already won over $25,000 in scholarships!
