Earlier this year as the Munster Police Department was beginning plans for this year’s 25th Annual National Night Out Against Crime Celebration, we sent out a request to see if a local business would like to sponsor a “Nat the Knight” costume. Shortly afterwards, our department was contacted by the Munster Chamber of Commerce which generously offered to sponsor the costume for use during future community events, and the costume was purchased.
During the June 11th Munster Chamber meeting at Centennial Park, Nat made his first public appearance in Munster where he greeted and passed out hand sanitizer to their members. Nat is pictured above with Brad Hemingway, the Munster Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors Secretary.
The Munster Police Department would like to once again thank the Munster Chamber of Commerce for their support of our community policing efforts. Nat the Knight will now be regularly seen, along with Daren the Lion and McGruff, at community events throughout the year such as the National Night Out Against Crime Celebration and other positive events to promote police and community partnerships.
