On Monday, July 31 Milestone Construction will resume the paving project on 45th Street working each night from 7pm to 8am to minimize disruption to businesses. No road closures are anticipated as flaggers will temporarily stop traffic where & as needed.
The first week the existing 6.5 inches of asphalt will be removed followed by immediate installation of a 4.5 inch base course of new asphalt. The driveway access will be unavailable only for a short time when the equipment is working in front of it. After placement of the base course, access will be available with a 2-inch lip at each driveway.
After the base course is installed, the Town’s electrical contractor has work to do at the Margo Lane intersection. Once complete, Milestone will return to install the final 2 inch surface course of asphalt, which is a quicker operation. Again, driveway access will be restricted only while they are working directly in front of the driveway. This work also will occur at night. The date of final surface course is unknown at this time.
