Recently, Munster Police K-9 Officer Alex Reillo was selected by the National Interdiction Network (NIN) to be an award recipient for his criminal interdiction efforts in 2021. He will be recognized at the National Interdiction Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
Officer Reillo and his K-9 Vader are assigned to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Drug Task Force, Highway Interdiction Unit. On May 15, 2022, Officer Reillo and the other members of the Highway Interdiction Unit were awarded a unit commendation for interdiction operations during the 2021 calendar year.
