Theatre at the Center took on the feel and sounds of the 30s, 40s, and 50s Las Vegas big band era when the Midwest Big Band with Jim Bulanda filled the stage on April 27, 2025. Bulanda, lead vocalist, saluted big band leaders and entertainers, of past decades.
The 16-piece Midwest Big Band with Jim Bulanda was an outstanding combination. Bulanda captured the essence of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin in several songs. He also shared background stories about songs as will as some comedic antidotes. The receptive audience was very familiar with the songs, which earned well-deserved applause.
Songs from the playlist included such favorites as Come Fly with Me, Beyond the Sea, You Make Me Feel So Young, My Way, and New York, New York. Jeff, on keyboard also did great solos including The Way You Look Tonight, Almost Like Being in Love, and Mrs. Jones.
