Marriott Theatre Completes 2023 Young Audiences Season with The Snow Queen- A Fairytale That Rocks

Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences concludes the 2023 children’s theatre season with its winter production, THE SNOW QUEEN. Kids (and parents!) of all ages are invited to enjoy a musical take on Hans Christian Andersen’s coming-of-age adventure that inspired the hit Disney Movie, Frozen, running November 17 to December 31, with a press opening on Saturday, November 25 at 10 am, located at 10 Marriott Drive. This one-hour family musical is directed by Landree Fleming with music direction by Michael Mahler and choreography by Katie Johannigman. Each performance will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the cast.

Through the adventures of a brave-hearted young girl, it reminds us of the strength we have inside ourselves to overcome any obstacle, no matter how insurmountable it may seem.” 

THE SNOW QUEEN is a rockin’ fairy-tale, guaranteed to bring a smile to audiences of all ages! In this whimsical and edgy adventure, Gerda commences on a dangerous quest to save her best friend Kai before he is trapped forever in the Snow Queen’s palace. In a land where animals talk and flowers sing, join Gerda on her journey to rescue her beloved friend. Filled with quirky and off-kilter characters and lively rock music, THE SNOW QUEEN is a perfect way to introduce young audiences to theatre. 

This production of THE SNOW QUEEN stars Joryhebel Ginorio as “Gerda,” Alanna Chavez as “Snow Queen/Flower/Princess/Robber Girl,” Jeremiah Alsop as “Kai/Prince/Flower,” Caron Buinis as “Grandmother/Lady Crow/Wise Woman of the North/Witch/Robber Mother,” and Ryan Stajmiger as “Troll/Crow/Reindeer/Rose” with understudies Shela Coleman, Amy Yesom Kim, Jackson Mikkelsen, Elissa Newcorn and Nathe Rowbotham.  

The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences team will be led by Associate Artistic Director Katie Johannigman, with costume design by Janelle Smith, lighting design by Daphne Agosin, scenic and prop design by Eleanor Kahn, sound design by Michael Daly, and media design by Tony Churchill. The stage manager is Matthew Silar.  

THE SNOW QUEEN plays most Fridays through Sundays at 10 am with select 12:30 pm performances and plenty of holiday week performances.
