
Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter has announced the promotion of Senior Trooper Nathan S. Wolfe to the rank of Detective where he will serve as a criminal investigator for the Criminal Investigation Division at the Lowell District. Detective Wolfe competed in a promotion process including a written test, oral interview, and overall evaluation of work performance.
Detective Wolfe is a 14-year veteran of the Indiana State Police. He is a 2000 graduate of Calumet Baptist High School. Before being employed with ISP, Wolfe attended Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana and Ivy Tech in Valparaiso, Indiana.
In December of 2007, Wolfe graduated from the 68th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was assigned to the Lowell Post, where he has primarily worked in Porter and LaPorte Counties. During Wolfe's 14 years as a Trooper, he has served as a Field Training Officer (FTO), Background Investigator, Firearms Instructor, Tac Med Instructor, Mission Less Lethal Instructor, Speed Timing Device Instructor, and member of the TIP Team (Tactical Intervention Platoon). He was a certified member of the Meth Suppression Section and certified as a Level 3 Motor Carrier Inspector to enforce Federal Motor Carrier laws.
In his new position, Detective Wolfe will conduct criminal investigations throughout the district that includes managing, investigating, and processing crime scenes as well as interviewing witnesses, suspects, and informants. He will also support local police agencies in any capacity necessary with criminal investigations.
Detective Wolfe is married and lives in Lake County with his wife Amy, daughter Indi, and son Aiden.
