The Lighthouse Lounge, the upscale bar at Lighthouse ArtSpace Chicago (108 W. Germania Pl.) alongside the hit attraction Immersive Frida Kahlo, today announced “A Toast to Frida,” a one-night only event March 8 in celebration of International Women’s Day. “A Toast to Frida” invites women - mothers, sisters, partners and colleagues to a night of delectable hors d’oeuvres, heavenly vintages and a showing of Immersive Frida Kahlo, the newest immersive experience by Lighthouse Immersive that is on-view alongside the blockbuster Immersive Van Gogh exhibition. The night will begin with a glass of prosecco for all in the Lighthouse Lounge and a communal toast to the artist who dared to express her truth, pain and struggles in bold brushstrokes, creating art that heals and inspires to this day. Guests will then be invited into the gallery to view Immersive Frida Kahlo at 7:30 p.m. The night will culminate with a sparkling wine tasting event, featuring over a dozen sparkling wines from around the world, from 8:15 to 10 p.m.

“We could not let international women’s day pass without honoring one of the most inspiring women in history,” said Irina Shabshis, co-producer of Immersive Frida Kahlo. “International Women’s Day is the perfect occasion to honor this extraordinary artist and her legacy, as well as celebrate all the women who touch and shape our lives every day.”

Tickets for “A Toast to Frida” start at $99.99, with VIP ticket options available. VIP perks include a bottle of prosecco and an Immersive Frida Kahlo poster. Tickets can be purchased here.

The recently renovated lounge is now open to the public and offers an upscale ambiance for a night out in Old Town. With wall-to-wall windows, romantic emerald and gold tones, dim lighting and cozy seating, the modern design beautifully contrasts with the historic building’s 19th century architecture, making the Lighthouse Lounge a quaint and elegant space to grab a glass of wine after work, a late-night night cap or catch up with friends. The full-service bar features a selection of Van Gogh-themed cocktails to compliment the Immersive Van Gogh projections continuing alongside Immersive Frida Kahlo.

The Lighthouse Lounge is also available to book as a venue for private events. For more information, contact Anastasiia Kozlova at (312)434-2951 or anastasiia.kozlova@lighthouseimmersive.com

The lounge is accessible through the Immersive Frida Kahlo entrance located on the second floor of Lighthouse ArtSpace Chicago Building (108 W Germania Place). The Lighthouse Lounge is accessible for ticketholders to enjoy before or after viewing the projection show or as part of a VIP package, however, those entering the Lighthouse Lounge do not have access to the gallery space without a purchased ticket. In accordance with city guidelines, COVID-19 safety measures include masks to enter and when not consuming beverages, as well as socially distant seating.

About Immersive Frida Kahlo

On the heels of its critically acclaimed blockbuster Immersive Van Gogh, the Lighthouse Immersive team set their sights on the art and life of Frida Kahlo (1907-1954), the beloved 20th century Mexican artist best known for compelling self-portraits and radiant pieces inspired by her life in her native country of Mexico. The Immersive Frida Kahlo exhibition features some of the artist’s best-known works “brought to life” by the world-renowned master of digital art, Italy’s Massimiliano Siccardi, again accompanied by composer Luca Longobaridi’s resonant score. Vittorio Guidotti is the Art Director. A brilliant, bold and uncompromising painter, Kahlo’s work is globally recognized for its raw emotional vitality, vibrant color work and unflinching intimacy. Immersive Frida Kahlo is slated to arrive in seven cities in 2022.

Ticket prices start at $39.99 ($24.99 for children 16 or younger), with timed and flexible ticket options available. The venue is easily accessible by public transportation and has ample parking in the nearby James House parking garage.
