Featured Program:
Get Ready for the Eclipse!
Eclipse glasses? We've got 'em. Supplies are limited. You can get a pair by attending an eclipse event at the library or by visiting an LCPL branch any time and completing a simple safety quiz.
To save your seat at an eclipse event, head to www.lcplin.org/events and search eclipse. Make sure to sign up in advance - these events will fill up quickly!
Glasses out of stock?
If you can't make it to an eclipse event and the front desk is out of glasses, you can make your own eclipse viewer! Here are guides to make one from a cereal box (with adjustments for any size box) and from a shoe box (with video guide).
DO NOT use your eclipse glasses from previous eclipses. The glasses do expire and you will be at risk of permanent eye damage.

You Asked, We Answered!
Question: I heard there are classes at the library to help me become a citizen. What do I need to do?
Answer: The rules and procedures to becoming a US Citizen are rather complicated. Fortunately, there are immigration lawyers and experts to assist with this process. Once you have met with someone who can assist you with the legal aspect, you need to decide if you want to become a citizen of the United States.
If your decision is yes, then the library has classes that will prepare you for the in-person test. The test is three parts: speaking, reading and writing.
The material is about United States history and how our government works. We have wonderful printed color materials that help pull the vast information into a story, and will help you understand the political structure, allowing you to better participate in our democratic society. We are proud to say we've helped 21 people become legal citizens so far!
