Legacy Foundation Transform Lake County and Women in Philanthropy grants award over $246,900 to Lake County serving organizations

Legacy Foundation recently announced a round of funding totaling $246,949 to 21 organizations. Spring cycle grants were awarded across multiple service areas, including arts, health, inclusion and diversity, education, and youth.

 

 

Transform Lake County Grant

Transform Lake County Grants support our Lake County communities with a sharpened focus on the most pressing challenges our community is facing today: the impact of COVID-19, systemic racism and racial injustice, and the underinvestment and lack of infrastructure in under-resourced and marginalized communities across Lake County.

Women in Philanthropy Grant Recipients

The Legacy Women in Philanthropy (WIP) group awarded grants to two organizations serving women and children in Lake County, Indiana.

  • Girls on the Run to support scholarship assistance to girls in Lake County in Fall of 2022 and Spring of 2023. 
  • Hearts in Motion to provide financial support for the organization's New Directions program, which assists families who have faced hardship through domestic violence, a house fire, or homelessness in transitioning from shelter into a new home. 

The Women's Philanthropy Fund raises money through contributions from members and other donors. Member contributions support annual grants that meet immediate needs and an endowment fund to build long-term support for women and children in Lake County, Indiana.
