Second and final weekend of L’arc en Ciel Theatre Group’s dinner theatre show at Great Oaks at 13109 So.Wicker Ave in Cedar Lake is coming THIS WEEKEND!  PLEASE TEXT Angie at 219.776.0888 for tix and info   …for this show and / or the next??
Paul & Angie Lowe are in their 57th year, now in their 18th yr at Great Oaks!!

In a real departure for LCTG, Directors Paul and Angie Lowe are presenting a “dark comedy” by James Kirkwood, based on his novel by the same name…. PS…YOUR CAT IS DEAD!

Try to put yourself in Jimmy Zoole’s place?   It’s New Year’s Eve in New York City.  His Greenwich Village apartment has been robbed twice…even the only copy of the novel he’s been working on was stolen!  Not only that, but his girlfriend Kate has written him a “dear John” letter.  He’s lost his current job---a one-man HAMLET--- and he’s been written out of his weekly soap opera. In short, he’s hit rock-bottom and the only one to talk to is the burglar he’s got tied up in his kitchen!

Again,  PS…YOUR CAT IS DEAD is an unusal comedy for LCTG and we are  recommended it for adults only,  due to mature language/content.  The Lowes are hoping all their regular LCTG folks will sharpen up their wonderfully weird senses of humor and come on out for a great dinner and a crazy show!

LCTG veteran actor Bruce Jung of Dyer  portrays Jimmy Zoole, a down on his luck actor/writer.  Kali Rasala of Chesterton plays Kate, his photographer girlfriend.  In his 3rd show with LCTG,  James Rhoten of Highland is the gutsy Vito Antonucci who breaks into Jimmy’s tiny apartment for the 3rd time,  but this time, he doesn’t get away with it.  LCTG newcomer Chris Canul, also of Highland, rounds out the cast as Fred, Kate’s last-minute “date” for New Year’s Eve.    Hey ?! SOMEONE YOU KNOW MAY BE IN THE SHOW?!

PS ….YOUR CAT IS DEAD! closes this final weekend with buffet at 6:30 and show at 8 both this Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 !!! Plenty of tickets are still available!

The show closes on this Sunday Matinee, April 2, with buffet at 12:30 and show at 2.  Matinee tix are already filling in.   Again, text at the number above and pay at the door by cash or check only.  Tickets for adults under 60 are $42, for seniors 60 and older are $40.  Ticket includes AYCE buffet dinner AND show.  Cash bar available and they accept credit cards!   Of course, there’s always free parking!!!

And something new……unless we get a complete sell-out crowd, everything will now be on the ground level….no more climbing stairs!

More to come !!!

This summer LCTG is planning to do a musical review instead of a full-fledged show as a “fun” rai$er in order to prepare for our fall musical  1776!!!!!

We are hoping to attract lots of great guys to portray the members of the Continental Congress!  There are only 2 female roles.   Auditions still to be set but we’re hoping for end of August, then music rehearsals first 2 or 3 nights a week…. starting blocking rehearsals in mid September with major leads, then sprinkling in the other characters in at least 2 rehearsals a week.  Performances hopefully scheduled October 27, 28,29 and November 3, 4, 5 and 10, 11, and 12 !!!   SAVE THOSE DATES!?!?!

Contact Angie Lowe if you’re at all interested in auditioning for that amazing musical, or for helping build the set, or very importantly, helping create, build, or remake coats and pants in the colonial style, as well as fashion lace cuffs and jabots!    LCTG would more than welcome your help!

The Lowes have produced 1776 twice in their first 56 years, first in 1976, then again in 2002.  In our latest production, we gave $10 discount for the theatre tix to our veterans, a courtesy we will again offer in 2023 with prior notice and valid ID.
