LCSO to host The Texas Tenors and Purdue Varsity Glee Club at April 22 concert

The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra (LCSO) will conclude their 50th Anniversary season with THE TEXAS TENORS and the PURDUE VARSITY GLEE CLUB in concert on Saturday, April 22nd, 7:00 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium!

The Texas Tenors have amassed a huge fan base worldwide with over half a million followers on social media and more than 20 million views on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. This Emmy Award winning vocal trio was a top finalist in “America’s Got Talent”. With repertoire ranging from classical to country, The Texas Tenors truly have extraordinary mass appeal. For more information, go to THETEXASTENORS.COM.

The Purdue Varsity Glee Club, under the direction of William Griffel, has served as ambassadors of the University with honor and dignity for more than 125 years. Comprised of 67 singers, the Glee Club will perform one-of-a-kind arrangements tailor made for the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra. For more information, go to https://www.purdue.edu/pmo/ensembles/purdue-varsity-glee-club.php.

This will be the first time The Texas Tenors have appeared with the LCSO and the Purdue Varsity Glee Club is making a much-anticipated return appearance after their performance in 2015. The LCSO wishes to thank Dr. Charles & Mrs. Rita Hagenow and Purdue Federal Credit Union for their sponsorship of the concert.

Opening the concert will be “Celebration Fanfare”, composed by Rick DeJonge and commissioned by Garry & JoFran Bendix for the 50th Anniversary season. LCSO Music Director, Dr. Carolyn Watson, will be leading the musicians of the LCSO as well as the Glee Club and The Texas Tenors.

“A lot of planning has taken place to make this final concert incredibly special for both our audience and musicians,” said LCSO Executive Director, Tim King. “This will be a great finale to an incredible season.”

The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. CDT on Saturday, April 22. General Admission Balcony tickets are available for $30 by going to WWW.LCSO.NET. They will also be available for sale at Roxy Music and the Civic Auditorium in La Porte or by calling 219-362-9020. There will be no free student admissions to this concert.
