LCPL LIBRARY INSIDER

Free Lead Screening Kits

Check your home and soil for lead! Purdue Extension, IU Indianapolis, the Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District, and LCPL are teaming up to bring free lead screening kits to Lake County residents.

Anyone living in Lake County can pick up a free kit at any LCPL location while supplies last. You don't need a library card to use a kit!

The kits can be dropped directly into the mail when complete; no need to return to the library. The results are private and will be sent directly to you along with advice on minimizing lead exposure.

Check out our lead screening FAQ (PDF) for more information or head to your favorite LCPL branch to pick up a kit today!

You Asked, We Answered!

Question: My family helps me with my phone, but they go so fast that I can't remember the steps. Can someone at the library help me learn?

Answer: Absolutely! Sometimes you just need time to practice and ask questions along the way. Call your local branch to arrange a one-on-one technology help session or visit our online calendar to reserve a pre-set time!

Bring your phone, tablet, or laptop and the questions you would like to explore, whether that's how to send photos, use an app, find a downloaded file, or something else. We'll help you practice the steps so you feel more comfortable trying them on your own!
