Need to Know:
A Plow PSA
With winter well underway, remember that you're sharing the roads and parking lots with large, heavy pieces of machinery with a lot of blind spots. That's right, we mean plows! Here are a few things to keep in mind when navigating parking lots and roads, whether on foot or in a vehicle:
- Plow drivers can't see you. (Except when... NO! Always assume they can't see you!)
- Plows cannot stop quickly - and if it's plow weather, neither can you. Give them space.
- Listen for the backup beep and get out of the way.
- Don't drive or walk distracted.
Our plow operators are trained professionals, but we can help them out a lot by keeping these tips in mind. Remember: When there's ice and snow, take it slow - and don't crowd the plow!
