21 & over.
The Lake County Public Library Foundation is hosting an evening of Rock 'N' Roll Roots on Thursday, November 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lake County Public Library, 1919 W. 81st Ave. The evening will include beer and cider tastings served by Indiana Beverage, hors d'oeuvres, raffle items, live music, and a presentation by Joe Cantafio. Joe is a Chicago-based musician who has performed alongside many of the early rock 'n' roll pioneers such as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Jerry Lewis. He will be speaking on the birth and evolution of rock music from the early 1950s through the mid-to-late 1960s. This event is open to adults 21 and over and tickets are $50 a piece, which can be purchased at any of Lake County Public Library's nine locations by cash or check or on the library's website at www.lcplin.org.
Proceeds from this event go towards funding for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which is a program that the Lake County Public Library Foundation has partnered with where children in the library's school districts are able to receive a free book mailed to them every month from birth until they turn 5.
