Jekyll and Hyde in Concert Team Announcement

The Chicagoland Theatre Fund is excited to announce that it will be presenting a special two-performance-only concert version of the Broadway hit musical, Jekyll and Hyde, this coming fall. The production will mount September 17, 2022, at 2 pm and 8 pm at the historic Arcada Theatre, located about 45 minutes outside of Chicago. The production will be led by KYLE REID HASS (Director) and JUSTIN AKIRA KONO (Music Director). Additional team members and casting will be announced at a later date. Tickets are not yet on sale. All are encouraged to subscribe at www.chicagolandtheatrefund.com for updates and announcements.

KYLE REID HASS is a NYC-based theatre director/composer & lyricist and co-founder of Passion Projects Theatre Company and Hass & Swanton Productions. Off-Broadway credits include: Contact High at Ars Nova (director/composer & lyricist), Science Fair at Theatre Row (composer & lyricist). Other NYC Credits include: Pollyanna at EAT Festival (director), Breaking Ground at NYMF (composer & lyricist). Regional Theatre theatre credits include: Into the Woods, Contact High (Chicago Tryout), Godspell, Tick, Tick... Boom!, The Last Five Years, Little Shop of Horrors, Children of Eden. 

JUSTIN AKIRA KONO is a percussionist, pianist, arranger, and conductor of uncommon range. He has worked for many organizations across the Chicagoland area as a musician and music director including Porchlight Music Theater, The Marriott Theater, Music Theater Works, and the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. He also acts as an electronic music designer and arranger for various theaters and area high schools. When not dabbling in the theater arts, Justin can be found playing piano for Dancing Queen: An ABBA Salute, the midwest's premiere ABBA tribute band. He is also the Director of Instrumental Music at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Downers Grove.

Jekyll & Hyde is a 1990 musical loosely based on the 1886 novella The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. Originally conceived for the stage by Frank Wildhorn and Steve Cuden, it features music by Frank Wildhorn, a book by Leslie Bricusse and lyrics by all of them.
