Chicago Fire FC today announced that midfielders Javier Casas Jr. and Brian Gutiérrez have been called to the U.S. U-20 Men’s Youth National Team for a training camp from Jan. 24-Feb. 2 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

U.S. U-20 MYNT head coach Mikey Varas has called in 26 players as the team continues preparing for the Concacaf U-20 Championship this summer, which will serve as qualification to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics.

It will be the first U-20 camp for Casas, and the second under Varas for Gutiérrez, who played in two matches of the Revelations Cup in Celaya, Mexico in November 2021. The Revelations Cup was the first competition of the U-20 MYNT 2022-23 cycle since Jan. 2020 after the 2020 Concacaf U-20 Championship and 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Casas and Gutiérrez were part of the U.S. U-16 MYNT squad that captured the 2019 Nike International Friendlies title, coming back to defeat Turkey 3-2 in the tournament final.
