
Tippecanoe County - Yesterday evening, just after 11:00 p.m., Trooper Fike was patrolling US 52 near County Road 575 East. Trooper Fike conducted a traffic stop on a 2016 Mazda 6 driven by Zion White, 20, Indianapolis, IN, for traveling 80 mph in a 60-mph zone. As Trooper Fike began to approach the vehicle, White fled at a high rate of speed.
Trooper Fike initiated a pursuit, which continued northwest on US 52 to Brady Lane in Lafayette. White turned to go westbound on Brady Lane towards Concord Road. White attempted to turn northbound on Concord Road and struck the raised center median. After striking the median, the Mazda became disabled. Trooper Fike was able to take White safely into custody with the assistance of other officers on the scene. Officers discovered two other occupants in the Mazda that were later released from the scene. White was transported to Tippecanoe County Jail.

- Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle – Level 6 Felony
- Reckless Driving – Class B Misdemeanor
Trooper Fike was assisted on the scene by troopers from the Lafayette Post, Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department, and Lafayette Police Department.
