At the request of the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office and Tippecanoe County Community Corrections, the Indiana State Police is investigating a death at a Tippecanoe County Community Corrections facility.
A preliminary investigation by Detective Stinson revealed that on December 12, 2024, just before 9:30 p.m., staff at the Community Corrections facility were notified of a possible medical emergency in one of the rooms. Upon arrival, Community Corrections staff located an unresponsive individual and began administering medical aid. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to the scene and transported the inmate to an area hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
The Tippecanoe County Coroner pronounced the inmate deceased. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office.
At this stage of the investigation, there is no indication of foul play. The incident remains under active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
