Indiana State Police Announces Promotion of F/Sgt. Jerry Holeman to Lieutenant

Lafayette District – Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter recently announced the promotion of F/Sgt. Jerry Holeman to the rank of Lieutenant. Lieutenant Holeman will assume the crucial position of Area I Investigative Commander.

Selected from a competitive pool of candidates, Lieutenant Holeman underwent a rigorous promotion process, including a comprehensive written test, oral interview, and thorough assessment of his overall work performance.

1A native of White County, Indiana, Lieutenant Holeman commenced his journey of service following his graduation from North White High School in 1989. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps until his honorable discharge in 1997.

Continuing his dedication to public safety, Lieutenant Holeman graduated from the 61st Indiana State Police Recruit Academy on June 24, 2001. He was subsequently assigned to the Lafayette post, where he patrolled White and Carroll Counties. Notably, his tenure also included a temporary assignment in the meth suppression section.

Throughout his tenure with the Indiana State Police, Lieutenant Holeman consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership, progressing through various roles such as detective, Investigative Squad leader, and District Investigative Commander. In recognition of his exceptional abilities, Lieutenant Holeman successfully completed the prestigious FBI National Academy in 2017.

Beyond his assigned duties, Lieutenant Holeman has actively contributed to specialized teams, serving as a Field Training Officer, Hostage Crisis Negotiator, and invaluable member of teams such as the Mobile Field Force Team and the Methamphetamine/Clandestine Lab Team.

Lieutenant Holeman resides in White County and is supported by his wife, three children, and five grandchildren.
