The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra (LCSO), one of 278 nonprofit organizations throughout the state of Indiana, has been awarded American Rescue Plan Act funds through the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC). Each organization received $3,000.
Grants were distributed through IAC’s Arts Recovery Program with American Rescue Plan Act funds directly from the National Endowment for the Arts with additional NEA funds through Arts Midwest, Indiana’s regional partner.
“We are honored to receive this additional funding from the Indiana Arts Commission,” said LCSO executive Director, Tim King. “We appreciate IAC recognizing that the LCSO continued to perform safely throughout the pandemic in 2020 and 2021. Our intention is to continue in the same manner keeping musicians and patrons safe while delivering the music they richly deserve.”
The LCSO is entering its 49th season with Dr. Carolyn Watson recently appointed as Music Director. More information about the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra can be found at www.lcso.net.

The LCSO performed at Friendship Botanic Gardens' Celebration Pavillion on July 25.
