
This morning (6/10/2022), just after 3:30 a.m., Trooper Wiley was patrolling I-65 near the 171 mile marker. Trooper Wiley attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Honda CBR driven by Taha Qameruddin, 24, from Woodridge, IL, for traveling 110 mph in a 65 mph zone. Qameruddin failed to stop for Trooper Wiley, and the pursuit continued southbound on I-65.
Trooper Wiley continued to pursue the Honda southbound to the 158 mile marker, where Qameruddin exited from I-65 to State Road 28. Qameruddin went eastbound on State Road 28 to County Road 600 W. At County Road 600 W, Qameruddin began to drive through a field, and Troopers lost sight of him. Officers on the scene quickly set up a perimeter around the field. Officers located Qameruddin, who appeared to have crashed his motorcycle in the field. Qameruddin was transported to a Lafayette area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Upon being released from the hospital, Qameruddin was transported to Tippecanoe County Jail.

- Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle - Level 6 Felony
- Aggressive Driving - Class A Misdemeanor
- Reckless Driving - Class C Misdemeanor
Trooper Wiley was assisted on scene by troopers from the Lafayette Post, Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Frankfort Police Department, Clinton County EMS, and Jerry’s Towing.
