Mon, 05/24/2021 - 5:57pm by laughingcat

On Sunday, May 30 from 10am-5pm, VALPARAISO HARLEY-DAVIDSON (1151 W. Morthland Dr./US 30) in Valparaiso, Indiana will be the site for animal lovers, motorcycle enthusiasts, and music fans from all across the region.

"The HSNI 2021 Spring Critter Ride" is being presented at Valparaiso Harley-Davidson as part of the dealership's "25th Anniversary Celebration." The full weekend long event kicks off the dealership's long-running, annual outdoor car, bike and concert series, which runs through the warm weather months. The special Sunday "Critter Run" benefits The Humane Society of Northwest Indiana (6100 Melton Road) in Miller/Gary, Indiana.

Leroy’s Hot Stuff (333 Hwy 20) of Porter, Indiana will be providing the beer garden for the full three days of the holiday weekend event, and will also have his food truck on site serving up several Mexican food favorites featured on his menu.

The approximately two hour ride begins and ends at Valparaiso Harley-Davidson. Registration sign-ups start at 10am. Last bike out at 11am. Cost for the May 30th "HSNI Spring Critter Ride" is: $20/single or $30/couple. 100% of the ride fee benefits The Humane Society of Northwest Indiana and includes one free "HSNI Critter Ride" t-shirt at sign up (while they last), a free door prize ticket, and a complimentary food voucher for use that day at the Leroy's Hot Stuff food truck.

The "HSNI Critter Ride After Party" runs from 1:30pm-5:00pm and features a live music stage at the beer garden by regional rock duo, THE JUNIORS (1:45pm-2:45pm) followed by classic rock group DC-3 featuring guitarist Derek Caruso (3pm-4:30pm). Sound for Sunday's event is being donated by Caruso Live Audio. All proceeds from the ride benefit Humane Society of Northwest Indiana.

“Leroy Flores of Leroy's Hot Stuff has been a wonderful friend and partner of The Humane Society of Northwest Indiana for this event over the years, which raises funds to keep us strong in our mission to care for the region’s homeless, abused, and unwanted animals,” said HSNI Executive Director Frieda White. "All of last year's fundraisers had to be canceled due to COVID-19, so this year's fundraisers are more important than ever. We are thrilled Valparaiso Harley-Davidson is welcoming us to be part of their special anniversary event on Memorial Day Weekend. We look forward to this wonderful afternoon of bikes, beers and bands!"

The Humane Society of Northwest Indiana survives entirely upon public donations, adoption fees, and fundraisers. Please save lives by supporting this event. For more information or to donate: www.humanesocietynorthwestindiana.org, www.facebook.com/HumaneSocietyofNWIN or (219) 938-3339.
